Real Or Ridiculous?!
Allegations have surfaced that Chris Brown begged and bribed his way to winning his first trophy at the 54th Grammy Awards for 2011.Hushed mouths began to open after the rumored firing of Ken Ehrlich for “indiscretion and violation of the Academy’s ethics and integrity in rewarding talent” just months after the 54th Grammy Awards Event.
The most sensational of this rumor is that Ehrlich was the producer responsible for the nomination of Brown in the first place. Accompanied with what is supposedly evidence of a large transaction through several emails back and forth, the President of The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Neil Portnow, is said to have released this statement on the situation:
Yet, Brown’s camp is denying the entirety of the story, from the firing to the bribe and communication between individuals. This could easily be another case of rumor mill vultures on the attack. But after the Grammys received damaging backlash for their support of Brown, they even went on to claim themselves victim of the 2009 beating that left the number one Pop Princess in cuts and bruises. Was this their way to (creepily and awkwardly) allow him to redeem himself to them? Or did Brown win the Grammy fair and square?“With almost ten years of being President for The Academy, I would have never predicted that this would happen. My lack of blessing for Chris’ nomination was known, but as I’ve always respected by colleagues’ insights, I mustered all I could not to fight it so much. I have worked alongside Ken for years now, and I am heavily disappointed, and will have to raise the conduct around this board. will see to it that nothing of this caliber of humiliation will happen again.”
