The Reason Why Lil Wayne Was Denied Entry To Thunder NBA Game x Says He Felt “Unwanted”

On May 31st, Lil Wayne wanted to take his best friend and manager Cortez Bryant, who is a die-hard Spurs fan, to watch the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs basketball game at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. When Weezy and Tez arrived to the arena, the team would not let him in because he didn’t have a ticket, which is why he then went and tweeted: “Was going to go to the Thunder game tonight but was denied by the team to be in their arena. Wow. Smh. Go Spurs!”

Rumors of why they would not let Wayne into the arena was because James Harden, a player for the Thunder team, banned him from watching the game due to Tune saying he misses and still loves Trina at LIV Nightclub on May 13th. If you didn’t already know and I’m not 100% sure on this myself, but I think Harden and Trina are currently dating, so this is why these rumors started to spread about Harden banning Tunechi from watching the game.

Mack Maine then went and told MTV the real reason why Lil Wayne was denied entry, which was because they would only sell tickets to them for the second row behind and not offer any special security for them; meaning Weezy, Mack and Tez would have to walk into the arena like everyone else.

It was Young Money President Mack Maine who tried to score the tickets through a broker, but securing the seats proved to be difficult. “He finally just let me know, they not really tryin’ to sell tickets to him,” Mack Maine told MTV News minutes after the playoff game ended. “They said they’ll give him some tickets on the front row behind, but they’re not really tryin’ to have him sittin’ courtside.”
Then things got even weirder Mack, told us. “Then they also sent a message back sayin’ the OKC policy was no special parking and no escort, so he gotta walk in like everybody else,” he explained. “Why would you actually want to cause pandemonium? That’s gonna make it harder for your security.”
Mack explained that he and Weezy were just concerned about their safety and the safety of the fans. It’s hard to imagine that the multiplatinum superstar could just slip in and out of an arena unnoticed. “We’re not no prima donnas, but that’s just common sense, for our safety and the safety of your building,” the Billionaire Minds rapper said. “We were basically just tryin’ to take our brother to the game.”
Chances are Tez wouldn’t have enjoyed himself anyway, as his beloved Spurs lost to the Thunder in a blowout, 102-82. “Yeah it worked out perfect anyway,” he said.

Lil Wayne also spoke to The Associated Press last night about why he felt unwelcome and unwanted at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City and why he doesn’t plan to return back:

The rapper said two Thunder players — Kevin Durant and James Harden — had reached out to offer him tickets to Saturday’s fourth game of the Western Conference Finals.
“That’s not the point, though,” he told The Associated Press in an interview Friday night. “It’s the players stepping up but of course the players aren’t white. I don’t want to be sitting there on behalf of you and I’m sitting next to a person that’s like ‘I don’t want this guy sitting next to me.’ Forget you … I’m in Forbes,” he said, laughing.
He said he typically procures tickets for such games “from this guy named Mike.” Lil Wayne said Mike had requested special security, parking and entrance for the rapper, but Mike said the team responded that they would only sell the seats for Mike’s personal use.
Lil Wayne said a manager had advised him not to return to the city’s arena for sports events or concerts, but “I never say never.”
He said he felt welcome at other arenas including Miami, and likes being able to energize players — many of whom are fans of his music — on their home court.
“That’s like me going on stage and … seeing LeBron James in the crowd with his hand up. I’m going to perform a little bit harder,” he said.
But in Oklahoma, he said that while “the players want me there, I don’t want to feel — I’m going to still feel unwanted.”
A team spokesman has said Lil Wayne’s representatives insisted that he sit in the front row, and none of those seats were available. Oklahoma City sold out every home game during the regular season and playoffs.
